David began to catch the heart of the Father for His ultimate creations. One night in the midst of being awed by the immensity of the star-strewn heavens he blurted out, “What IS man that you are mindful of Him?” What are we that Your mind is occupied with thoughts of us. We must be much more than we realize, since you devote so much attention to us. After all these millenniums, is it possible that we are only scratching the surface of what God had in mind for us when He breathed into us the breath of life? Jesus demonstrated to us what Sonship is like. We are the beloved children of the same Father Jesus shares union with. Jesus is God’s belief about humanity. We did not come from our mother’s wombs, we came from Him. He is the Rock from which we are all hewn. He is our source and we are made of Him. Who God says you are is what matters most. The Trinity made us in Their image and pronounced us very good. Our first conscious experience was being adored by our Maker. We were made to be delighted in. We were created to experience, enjoy, and express His delight in us. God is who He is no matter who we think He is. And, similarly, we are who He says we are, no matter if we believe it or not. Gold is gold, even before it is discovered. God saw us as enough of a treasure to give His all to purchase the whole field to get us. God longs to find unique expression in you. God’s favorite means of expression is us. He prefers being clothed in our skin. Jesus’ perfect life on this earth was proof God did not make a mistake when he made us. Humanity can house Him. Do we really believe that? Or, are we so caught up in sin-consciousness and hung over from delusions of fallenness to see who we truly are. Jesus comes not to awaken us to our potential but to who we are.
